Q: Where can I get the v4.0?
A: The Multilingual App Toolkit v4.0 is published via the Visual Studio Galley. You can open Visual Studio's "Extensions and Update" dialog, then search for "Multilingual App Toolkit v4.0" or you can just click here.
Q: I installed v4.0 and now my v3.x projects won't load. How can I fix this?
A: v4.0 is not compatible with previous versions. To get your project manually updated to work with v4.0, please follow the steps in this article.
Q: I added languages to my project, then added a second native source resource file. The resources are not showing up on the XLF file. Why?
A: This is a known issue with tis release. To workaround the issue, open the "Add translation languages..." dialog and simply click OK. This will add any missing native target resource files referenced by the XLF files.
Q: Why am I seeing translations in my app after I removed the XLF language file?
A: Unlike v3.x, the XLF language file is only half of the equation. You need to remove the native target resource file that MAT created. This will be different for each project type, but will be identifiable by the language code. German for example, a will have AppResource.de.resx for Windows Phone, Xamarin Forms, Windows Desktop. iOS projects will have a de.lproj folder, Android will have values-de folder, and Windows Store / Universal apps will have a de folder.
