  1. Add pseudo locale translations for mirrored (qps-plocm) and east-asian (qps-ploca).

In the Windows 10 Region & language settings I can add three pseudo loc languages English (qps-ploc), Arabic (qps-plocm), and Japanese (qps-ploca). However, using the Multilingual App Toolkit I can only only add and translate qps-ploc. I would like the Multilingual App Toolkit to support all OS pseudo languages for complete localization testability.

  2. error introduced by version MAT v4.x in converting resx files

The previous version v3.1 was able to process values starting with "<value>&lt;?xml version="1.0" ...". The actual Versions v4.x can not process These values anymore.
I can not upgrade my projects from MAT v3.1 to MAT v4.x when this obvious error is not corrected.
The suggestion "fix convert problem '?xml' with embedded xml structure in resx file" addresses this newly introduced error.

  3. Persist Filter Strings in a Drop-Down List

If you used a keyword string to filter a list, chances are you'll use that keyword again. As I go back and forth to deal with one particular row, I find myself retyping the same keyword to locate that row. If the filer strings are saved to drop-down list (like the search keyword in Visual Studio) then it would be a matter of just picking the keyword and hit the filter button. Simple concept but saves time.

  4. Create a separate install for the Multilingual Editor

The Multilingual App Toolkit uses two separate install models – MSI for VS 2015 / VS 2013 and VSIX for VS 2017. This creates an issue when installing only VS 2017 as the editor is not included in the VSIX.

To solve this, and to make install easier for non-developers, the editor should be separated into a separate install. Doing so will create a single process for installing the toolkit via the 'Tools -> Extensions and Updates' menu (Works for VS 2017, VS 2015, VS 2013) then install the Editor using a separate MSI.

Of course to avoid confusion with…

  6. Fix the download links

    From the official download page:

    https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/develop/multilingual-app-toolkit

    You get v4.0.1795.0

    According to this article:

    https://multilingualapptoolkit.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1167898-microsoft-translator-moves-to-the-azure-portal

One needs at least MAT v4.0.1810

Where can we download this one if not from the official page? Bing isn't very helpful either.

  7. Implement a counter for the number of translations MAT has requested

At the end of June we had to sign up for azure translation services in order to continue using MAT. In July and August we spend $200 on those service just using MAT. We need to know when a translation is requested and control when not to translate. We are happy to pay for these services but knowing how much we spend is required by our company. Hence a counter to know how many translations have been done.

  8. Try entering a literal string with, say, <strong> around a word

Try entering a literal string with, say, <strong> around a word, or maybe a <a href tag. The MAT creates a xlf file the MAT editor cant load, and I have to open in notepad, delete the offending tags. Then it works (ish) I still have a support call open about getting the app to translate when published to another server.

  11. Usability!

Perhaps I misunderstand the usage of this, but my experience is one of frustration. Installed it (msi rather than vsix, sigh). VS2015/Win10. Tried to enable, got a dialog that told me to look at the MAT output window, can't find that, finally realize that it just means the output window (do you have any idea how many different "windows" VS provides?). Vague error, google search, added NeutralResourcesLanguage setting to AssemblyInfo.cs ... really!? you couldn't have just told me that? Now it's "enabled" whatever that means, because the context menu for the project exists but all the options are disabled ("greyed…

  12. Support extensions for custom formats

Please add extension points to allow integration of custom formats in projects, such as application specific text resources (e.g. WiX Toolset localizations, or any other custom text resources) in Visual Studio.

  15. A tutorial on how to add/update/remove the strings in the .resw files

I just started using Multilingual App Toolkit. Its great and not very difficult to understand and use.
The introduction video on Channel9 is a great place to start using this. But, I did not find any resources on how to update other resw files when source resw file is udpated.
I was able to get the updated strings to work on the other resw files using MAT, but I don't know if I am doing it right.
If there is such a help resource, please share. Else, a tutorial video or image-supported text tutorial would be really helpful.

  16. Provide the X-Platform TabbedPageDemo (Portable) As An MAT Example Solution

In the video "Cross-Platform Localization with the Multilingual App Toolkit" you showed us the demo program, TabPageDemo (Portable).

Could you post this as an example program?

  19. how to remove pseudo localized testing

I have followed the instructions at the following URL to enable the pseudo localized testing.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd374118%28v=vs.85%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

I started getting warnings about including the pseudo resources in production builds, so I removed the 3 registry settings and rebooted. I searched the registry, and there is no reference to those values any more.

I am still getting the warning about pseudo localization testing being enabled. How does one turn this off once 'enabled' on a project?

I am in VS 2015 working in a Prism WPF application.

thanks in advance for your time.
